Faridabad to get 150 low flooor buses

One hundred and fifty semi-low floor buses would be introduced under Jawaharlal Nehru Urban Renewal Mission to ply between Ballabgarh, Faridabad, Delhi, Palwal and Gurgaon and these would stop at almost all bus stops in urban areas of district Faridabad, Haryana Transport CommissionerAnand Mohan Sharan said at Faridabad on Saturday.

He disclosed that out of these 150 buses, 105 would be non-air conditioned and 45 air conditioned. To begin with, 20 buses of Volvo AC category would reach Ballabgarh Bus Depot within a day or two and all buses of the first phase of the scheme would reach Faridabad in the beginning of the new year.

He added that these buses would have zero position system which would enable the passengers to know their route and location.

He said that in Haryana, 20 bus stands had been chosen to provide world class facility and these included three bus stands of Faridabad---Faridabad NIT, Faridabad Sector 12 and Ballabgarh.

He disclosed that under the public private partnership mode, a plan was being implemented to introduce sub mission inter city bus scheme in Gurgaon and it would be expanded to Faridabad and other districts.
