The intra-party strife in the ruling Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) has deepened further with the dissident leader P S Tamang charging Chief Minister Pawan Kumar Chamling with practising ‘communal’ politics.
The Himalayan State is beset with ‘communal disharmony’ at present, he said at his first public appearance at his residence in Singithang locality in South Sikkim on Monday to mark the launch of a website ‘www.sikkimcalling.com’
The four-term senior SDF MLA, however, refused to elaborate on the communal issue but his close aides said that he was referring to the domination in state politics by the people of Rai community, the caste of the Chief Minister, and marginalization of the Limboo and Tamang tribal people.

Levelling yet another serious charge against Mr. Chamling, Mr. Tamang alleged that the state was reeling under rampant corruption under the SDF dispensation, which he said, will be exposed through information gathered with the help of RTI, articles and other substantive documents in times to come.
The dissident SDF leader also had a dig at Mr. Chamling for claiming to be a believer in the inner-party democracy and freedom of speech and said that contrary to it, the Chief Minister had muzzled all dissenting voices within the party and outside and indulged in hero worshipping by his colleagues and psychophants.
