Normality is completely restored in Dimapur where a rape accused was lynched on March 5 by the unruly mob after dragging him out of the central jail there. Curfew and prohibitory orders are in force only at night as a precautionary measure. However the blocking of the internet and SMS will continue for some more days.

Markets, shops and business establishments are open and there is no tension among different communities. There is free vehicular traffic and Manipur bound vehicles are crossing Dimapur without any impediment.

Before going to press and telecasting some related news factual confirmations should be obtained from the departments concerned. As a judicial inquiry commission is underway law should take its own course.

Police had already arrested 43 persons in connection with the mob violence even while the judicial inquiry commission is underway. Indications are that some more arrests will be made. It appears that they were identified from the video clippings of the lynching which had gone viral.
