Congress MLAs intensify anti-Mukul campaign

A fresh bout of political crisis is looming over Meghalaya, with 10 legislators of the ruling Congress leaving for New Delhi on Wednesday to press the high command for a change in leadership in the State.

The development came a week after the Mukul Sangma government completed one year in office. Sources in the Congress said some more dissident MLAs were likely to leave for Delhi on Thursday to intensify the campaign. The anti-Mukul Sangma camp claims to enjoy the support of 18 of the 28 Congress MLAs.
