Accepting the verdict in the bypoll in ten Bihar assembly seats in which BJP won four against six by ‘grand secular alliance’, its leader Sushil Kumar Modi on Monday said the party would review and make amends in its efforts to win the assembly elections next year.

“We accept the verdict,” he said in a series of tweets.

Mr. Modi, however, remained unfazed by strong performance put out by the rival alliance of RJD, JD(U) and Congress saying the score has evened out at 1-1 at the hustings between the two sides this year.

“We had won Lok Sabha polls, they (the secular alliance) have won the assembly bypolls ... It is 1-1,” he said.

The former deputy chief minister, under whose leadership BJP fought bypolls on ten assembly seats this time, also sought to make light of the verdict pointing out that the NDA had won 32 Lok Sabha seats in 2009 general elections but lost 13 out of 18 assembly bypolls soon after and again emerged victorious by 3/4 majority in 2010 assembly polls.

“We will review, make amends on way to making an all out effort to win the final round,” he said, referring to the assembly polls due next year in Bihar.

The BJP-led alliance trailed behind the grand alliance winning merely four out of the ten assembly seats as against six seats won by its rivals.

The BJP held six out of the ten seats as against three by the RJD and one by the JD(U).
