Assam government signs two MoUs with Tata group

Two Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) was signed here today between Assam government and Tata group of industries, official sources said.

The MoUs were signed between Assam Industries and Commerce Department and Tata Housing Development Company Limited (THDCL) and another between the latter and Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA).

Assam Industries and Commerce Commissioner and Secretary Ravi Capoor and THDCL’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Brotin Banerjee signed the MoU on creation of commercial spaces, IT parks and business hubs in the state.

GMDA’s Chief Executive Officer Pritam Saikia and THDCL’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Brotin Banerjee signed the MoU on building commercial properties in Public—Private Partnership (PPP) mode in the metropolitan area.

The MoUs were signed in the presence of Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi, Chairman Tata Sons Limited Ratan Tata, Director Tata Sons Limited R. K. Krishna Kumar, Vice President, Business Development of Tata group Sandeep Ahuja, Assam Chief Secretary P. C. Sarmah and Principal Secretary to Chief Minister T. Y. Das.
