41 fall ill after gas leakage near Bhopal

At least 41 employees working in various private factories in Mandideep Industrial Area in Raisen district, around 25 km from Bhopal, were affected by suspected chlorine gas leakage from one of the units on Saturday.

The workers complained of vomiting and burning sensation in the eyes following which they were rushed to a hospital, Mandideep police station in-charge Narendra Singh Rathore said.

While 38 were admitted at the local Gitanjali Hospital, three were sent to Bhopal as their condition was serious, he said, adding, further probe is on.
