2 seriously injured in bus explosion

Two people were seriously injured and six suffered minor injuries after an explosion took place in a State transport bus at Nalegaon, in Latur district of Maharashtra.

A senior police officer from Maharashtra police confirmed to The Hindu that the explosion took place two seats behind the driver’s seat. “It could be some other explosive material, but not IED. Our forensic teams will confirm the nature of material after tests,” he said. The bus was going from Udagir to Latur and had stopped at a bus stand. The driver had got down when the explosion took place. The bomb squad has been sent to Nalegaon for further investigations.
