16 feared killed as bus falls into gorge in J&K

At least 16 people were feared killed and 23 others injured on Tuesday when a bus skidded off a road and fell into a deep gorge in Jammu and Kashmir’s Ramban district.

The bus which was on its way from Ramban to Banihar met with the accident on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway this afternoon, police said.

The vehicle rolled down the 400-ft Khooni Nala at Nashri, 200 kms from Jammu, they said, adding at least 16 people were feared killed while 23 others were injured in the mishap.

Army and police have launched rescue and relief operation.
