Thirteen militants of Assam and Nagaland turned themselves in before Manipur Chief Minister Okram Ibobi here on Wednesday.
While five of them are from the Dima Halam (Jewel) of Assam who laid down one lethod gun and four pistols, the others are of the Federal Government of Nagaland. They had brought one G-3 rifle, five pistols, one AK 56 rifle and one lethod gun.
Welcoming them, Mr. Ibobi said his government was in touch with the Centre on rehabilitation programmes for surrenderees. After vocational training, the surrenderees are provided jobs.

The surrendered militants of the Kangleipak Communist party (Lallumba group) were trained in Pune.
Mr. Ibobi said the surrenderees wanted jobs in the police and security forces for their own security. For, in Manipur, armed militant groups kill those cadres who surrender to authorities.
