In their latest move towards social awakening, Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS), rightwing Hindu outfit has demanded that the Goa Education Department print information related to ‘Sanskars’ on the note-books distributed to students on behalf of the government.

A delegation of HJS submitted a memorandum to Goa Director, Education Gajanan Bhat and made this demand. Mr. Bhat has agreed to put up the demand before government, a spokesperson of HJS told The Hindu here on Thursday.

The HJS has also initiated a campaign, ‘Save the honour of the National Flag’ ahead of Republic Day celebrations. Stating that it is very essential to create awareness among students as they are the future generation, the HJS, which organises lectures and campaigns with questionnaires and hand-bills giving information, has appealed to the Education department to allow the HJS to take up such programmes in schools.
