Abdul Nasir Maudany, leader of the Peoples Democratic Party has said that he will begin a fast unto death with his two minor sons, Umar Mukhthar (14) and Shalhudeen Ayubi (11), in front of the Secretariat from December 25. Talking to media persons from the Anwarssery Shariat College and Orphanage complex on Saturday evening he said that the fast is being undertaken because he and his family are not being allowed to live in peace.

The family is being denied even the right to live as human beings, he said. On December 25, he will offer prayers at Bhimapalli Mosque and proceed to the Secretariat gates to start the fast with his sons. Mr.

Maudany alleged that his wife being jailed was because of a conspiracy hatched by a section of police officers and politicians.

Stating that he is aware of the identity of all the persons behind the conspiracy, he said he would reveal the names of those behind the conspiracy before embarking on the fast. He said that reports about his wife admitting the crime charged against her is totally baseless. “Soofia has not made any such confession.”

The press meeting turned emotional when his younger son burst into tears and told the media that he fears that his brother and he will soon be branded as terrorists and arrested.
