Ravindra Ramachandra Hegde, of Yelagodmane in Sirsi taluk, has entered the Limca Book of World Records (LBWR) by weaving a mat blindfolded within four hours using plastic packing strips .

During his leisure hours, Ravindra started weaving mats of various sizes by collecting waste plastic strips used for packing as a hobby for more than 10 years now. He has woven more than 1,000 mats on demand by agriculturists from Uttara Kannada and the neighbouring districts.

He used to weave mats in the dark, during power failure, and it helped him weave mats blind-folded.
