Yeslur police in Sakaleshpur taluk, on Thursday, arrested a person in connection with alleged murder of an 18-year-old girl.
The arrested has been identified as Pradeep (22), son of Eeraiah, resident of Bachanahalli in Sakaleshpur taluk.
Sakaleshpur Circle Police Inspector K.T. Gururaj said that Pradeep was the accused in the alleged murder of Priya, also resident of Bachanahalli. She was studying in a college at Somwarpet in Kodagu district. Priya was Pradeep were relatives and, it is said, they were in love. Following differences over a petty issue Pradeep allegedly strangulated her to death and later hanged her body to a tree near his house. The murder came to light on Wednesday evening.

The accused was absconding but the police succeeded in tracing him on Thursday and took him into custody. Yeslur police are investigating the murder.
