City-based NGO Odanadi Seva Trust’s drive to create awareness against human trafficking received a boost with hundreds of volunteers participating in a mass yoga programme here.

Conducted as part of ‘Yoga Stops Traffic’ initiative that is being held for eight years now, Mysuru has been one of the centres where yoga was conducted and was part of a global event to spread awareness against human trafficking. The exercise in Mysuru was held at Palace Gate North opposite Chamaraja Circle and allowed volunteers to execute 108 surya namaskaras. Participants were free to perform as per fitness levels.

Parashuram of Odanadi said 120 events were held across 40 countries on Sunday. “This was the 9th edition of Yoga Stops Traffic and it helped create greater support” he added. The organisation, which is engaged in rescuing victims of human trafficking and rehabilitating them for 25 years now, said the event has also helped raise funds for rehabilitation and networking with similar organisations.
