A 24-year-old woman from Nekar Nagar in Hubballi died of H1N1 at a private hospital here on Thursday.
Deputy Commissioner P. Rajendra Cholan told presspersons here that her death was confirmed to be from H1N1 during laboratory testing.
Besides, one more case of suspected H1N1 was reported from Kuruvinakoppa village in Kalghatagi taluk where a 77-year-old man was found to be infected with the virus. He was undergoing treatment at the Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences and his condition was said to be improving.

Mr. Cholan said stern action would be taken against those selling H1N1 vaccine above the maximum retail price.
District Health Officer N.M. Angadi said,“It was not possible for the government to supply vaccines in large quantities to meet the public demand.”

Two more cases of suspected H1N1
In Belagavi, two more cases of suspected H1N1 have been reported on Thursday.
The patients have been admitted to the Belgaum Institute of Medical Sciences hospital in the city and swab samples from their nose and throat have been sent to the Manipal Centre for Virus Research for testing.
Three patients with suspected H1N1 were admitted to the hospital on Wednesday. With that, so far five cases of suspected H1N1 have been reported in the district since January this year. A 24x7 helpline to assist the patients (0831-2424285) has been set up at the district headquarters.
