Former Minister A.H. Vishwanath has expressed confidence that the disqualified MLAs will get justice from the Supreme Court.

Speaking to reporters here on Sunday, a day after the Election Commission announced bypolls to 15 out of the 17 Assembly segments, he said their petition against disqualification was pending before the Supreme Court.

He recalled that the rebels had hurriedly come to Bengaluru to submit their resignation in the stipulated format before the then Speaker after a direction was given by the Supreme Court. Mr. Vishwanath pointed out that the office of the Speaker, which was a quasi judicial body, had given its ruling on a Sunday in the presence of media personnel. “It was a vindictive ruling by former Speaker K.R. Ramesh Kumar,” he said.
