Hanchate Sanjiv Kumar, principal district and sessions judge and judge of the Lokayukta court, found a village accountant guilty of demanding and accepting bribe. Rajkumar Samuel of Humnabad, who worked as a village accountant in Chambol and Hippalgaon, was sentenced to seven years imprisonment in Bidar on Tuesday, along with a fine of Rs. 8,000 under various provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act. He demanded a bribe of Rs. 600 from Venkatrao Sherikar for unification of land records in 2009. Mr. Sherikar complained to the Lokayukta police, who trapped him while accepting the bribe.
