Venkateshwara temple to come up in Kalaburagi

Kalaburagi-based non-governmental organisation Shree Venkateshwara Foundation has come forward to set up a temple of Sri Venkateshwara in Kalaburagi district.

Addressing presspersons, writer Vasant Kushtagi said the foundation has decided to establish a close replica of Venkateshwara temple in Tirumala of Andhra Pradesh in 2.2 acres of land near Kamalapur town, 30 km from Kalaburagi.

Prof. Kushtagi said the sanctum sanctorum and the temple will be constructed in the first phase. The Flagstaff (Dwaja stamba) and Gatehouse tower (Rajagopuram) would be constructed in the second and third phase.

The foundation would also establish a charitable hospital to meet the medical needs of the poor in rural areas and would run a free school, Prof. Kushtagi added.
