Governor Vajubhai Vala has ordered an inquiry into the alleged illegalities in appointment of non-teaching staff and misappropriation of funds in the University of Mysore.

In a notification issued by the Raj Bhavan in Bengaluru on Thursday, the Governor, who is also Chancellor of the university, has appointed Marutirao Ramachandrarao Nimbalkar and Kanubhai Govindji Mavani to probe into the alleged irregularities in appointment of non-teaching staff, violation of reservation policy and misappropriation of funds worth crores.

This decision follows a complaint by acting Vice-Chancellor of UoM Dayanand Mane that the university’s Registrar R. Rajanna had appointed non-teaching staff without taking prior permission either from the State government or Syndicate of the university.

Dr. Mane’s complaint was sent to the Governor on April 15, 2017. He had alleged that the appointments were made in gross violation of the State government’s reservation policy.
