President of the Hyderabad Karnataka Horata Samiti and the former Minister, Vaijnath Patil, was persuaded by office-bearers of the samiti from Hyderabad Karnataka to withdraw his decision to resign as president of the samiti.
The office-bearers met under the chairmanship of freedom fighter, Vidyadhar Guruji, in Kalaburagi city on Sunday and unanimously rejected Mr. Patil’s decision to resign and requested him to continue in his post.
Later a one-line resolution moved by Shivashankar Garampalli asking Mr. Patil to continue in the post for life was seconded by M.B. Ambalagi and it was passed unanimously.

Mr. Patil, who reluctantly withdrew his decision to resign from the post of President, said that his decision was mainly due to the ill health and also to make way for the youngsters to take over the responsibility for the effective implementation of the Article 371 (J).
Mr. Patil said that there was a need to intensify the agitation to make the government implement the provisions of Article 371 (J) of the Constitution providing special status to Hyderabad Karnataka. He said that the revamp of office-bearers of all districts would be taken up soon and an agitation demanding the strict implementation of reservation according to the provisions of the article would be given a new direction shortly.
