Vaidya Vishwakosha to be revised

The Kannada University at Hampi has finally decided to revise the first-ever medical encyclopaedia in Kannada (Vaidya Vishwakosha) after 20 long years. It has entrusted the responsibility of updating the latest advances in medicine, the new diseases and treatment methods to eminent writer of medicine books in Kannada and physician Nadoja P.S. Shankar.It was Dr. Shankar who had compiled and edited the Vaidya Vishwakosha in 1995, which received wide acclaim. This is the only recognised encyclopaedia in Kannada so far.

Talking to The Hindu in Kalaburagi on Monday, Dr. Shankarsaid that he had already started the work of updating the information.
