The Undergraduate Entrance Test (UGET) of the Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK) was held in 134 centres in the State on Sunday.
The test determines admissions to 835 medical, 750 dental and around 18,000 engineering private-quota seats in 14 medical, 25 dental and over 160 engineering colleges in the State.
Nearly 83 per cent of the 38,295 candidates who applied for engineering and 78 per cent of the 45,235 candidates who applied for medical seats took the test. Of the 12,507 candidates who had applied for both medical and engineering streams, 9,919 (about 79 per cent) wrote the test. One case of impersonation was reported at the examination centre at Vijaya Pre-University College, Bangalore, and the Chief Superintendent of the centre had lodged a police complaint, a COMEDK release said. The provisional answer keys were made available on the COMEDK website late on Sunday evening and the rank list will be announced on June 4.

The Common Law Aptitude Test (CLAT), which holds the key to admissions in 14 National Law Schools in the country, was also held on Sunday. The National Law School of India University was the exam centre here. As many as 1,660 undergraduate and 491 postgraduate seats are available this year.
The paper was considered to be moderately difficult, while a few even found it easy. The students said static general knowledge questions were tough and the logic section was lengthy, but not difficult.

According to the CLAT website, the results will be declared on May 31. Counselling will commence on June 1. The admission process will be completed by June 30.
