Two pedestrians dead, three injured after being hit by KSRTC bus at Alur

Two people died on the spot and three others injured when a KSRTC bus hit pedestrians at Alur town on Sunday morning.

The deceased have been identified as Kariyayya (30) and Srinivas (30) of Ambedkar Nagar in Alur town. Both were working in ginger fields.

The bus was proceeding to Alur from Bikkodu in Alur taluk. As it reached the town, the driver lost control over the vehicle. The bus hit a truck, killed two pedestrians, injured other two persons and came to a halt only after ramming into a house nearby.

Driver of the bus also suffered serious injuries in the incident. The public in the vicinity ran helter-skelter. Residents of the town staged a protest against KSRTC. Break failure is said to be the reason for the accident.
