Two persons died on the spot and five others, including a four-year-old, were injured when a car collided with a lorry near Vyasanakere Railway Station on NH 13 coming under Mariyammanahalli police station limits in Hosapete taluk on Staturday.
The deceased were identified as Nitin (32) who was driving the car, and Shantakumaran, driver of the lorry, a resident of Salem.
The police said that Nitin and his family members were returning to their native place in Dharmasthala after visiting Mantralaya.

A case has been registered at Mariyammanahalli police station.
