Two farmers commit suicide

Unable to pay debts two farmers committed suicide in Chitradurga and Davangere districts respectively on Sunday.

Parameshwarappa (58), a resident of Pilapur village in Hosadurga taluk, hanged himself to death at his house on Sunday. According to sources, he had taken Rs. 1.20 lakh loan from different banks. A case has been registered in the Hosadurga police station.

Maheshwariah (27) died on Sunday after consuming poison at Kadarnayakanhalli village in Harihar taluk. According to sources, he had taken more than Rs. 4 lakh loan from different banks and private moneylenders. He consumed poison on Saturday night at his house and was admitted to a private hospital. He breathed his last on Sunday afternoon. A case has been registered in the Malebennur police station.
