Minister for Water Resources Basavaraj Bommai has hinted that north Karnataka will get a good deal in the budget to be present by Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar on February 8.

Delivering the Republic Day message here on Saturday, Mr. Bommai said the budget would have several pro-people measures, with focus on development of the northern regions of the State.

Allocation would be made for a project to utilise Tuprihalla rivulet waters to meet the drinking water needs of Dharwad, Hubli and Navalgund taluks, and irrigation requirements of the district, he said.

Hiremath, Senior Assistant Director, Information; S.B.
