There is no proposal to introduce dress code at Chamundeshwari temple, says CM

October 31, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:45 am IST - MYSURU:

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has denied that there was any proposal before the government to introduce dress code for devotees visiting the Chamundeshwari temple atop the Chamundi Hills in Mysuru.

“There is no such proposal before the government,” Mr. Siddaramaiah told reporters on his arrival at Mysuru airport on Friday.

The management committee of the temple had recently passed a resolution to introduce a dress for visiting devotees after receiving complaints about finding people in “inappropriate” outfits. Though the committee claimed to have passed a resolution to this effect on September 27 and forwarded it to the State government seeking its nod, Deputy Commissioner C. Shikha denied receiving any such proposal from the committee.
