A II PU student at Malur in Kolar district allegedly committed suicide after he was not allowed to write the preparatory examinations.. The victim, identified as S.N. He reportedly took the extreme step after the management of the private college allegedly barred him from writing the exam on Tuesday.
In a complaint lodged with Malur police, Mr. Nagaraj claimed that his son was barred from writing the examination as he had failed to clear fee dues of Rs. 3,000. An upset Harsha reportedly went to his house and committed suicide. The police have registered a case of unnatural death. The district unit of the Students’ Federation of India (SFI) staged a protest outside the Deputy Commissioner’s office on Wednesday, demanding action against the college. The SFI, in a memorandum submitted to the Deputy Commissioner, alleged that the inhuman approach of the college management drove Harsha to take the extreme step. The organisation demanded a compensation of Rs. 5 lakh for the family. SFI activists staged a protest in front of Deputy Commissioner’s office in Kolar on Wednesday.
