The district unit of the Students Federation of India (SFI) and students on Thursday staged a protest in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office here opposing the transfer of the hostel warden of the Government Pre-Matric Hostel for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, S. Savitri.
State vice-president of the federation, Sunil Manpade, in a memorandum to Deputy Commissioner, Vipul Bansal, urged that the Social Welfare Department cancel the transfer order of Ms. Savitri.
Mr. Manpade lauded the contribution of Ms. Savitri for the welfare of students by motivating them to take part in curricular activities.

“Ms. Savitri was particular about safety and security of the students. The student residing in hostels are provided with quality food under her supervision,” he added.
