'Hampi by night', a guided tour of Hampi’s monuments in the evening, is likely to be the special attraction during Hampi Utsav, a three-day cultural extravaganza of dance, drama and music, which is scheduled to be held in Hampi on November 3 to 5.

"The project 'Hampi by night' will be inaugurated during Hampi Utsav," Santosh Lad, Minister for Labour and district incharge, said at a preliminary meeting convened here on Saturday to gather suggestions from artistes, and representatives of various social and voluntary organisations on conducting the festival.

A dream project of the Department of Tourism and Hampi World Heritage Management Authority, 'Hampi by night' was conceived to give tourists an opportunity to take a stroll of the various bazaars and magnificient monuments in the evening. The guided five-hour will give tourists a taste of the tangible and intangible heritage of Hampi.

"Work on illuminating monuments is almost complete and the audio track which will run during the tour is ready. We hope to conduct a trial run very soon and decide on the modalities to be offered to tourists," said Mr. Lad.

In addition to 'Hampi by night', other special attractions like ‘Hampi by Sky’, light and sound programme, and classical dance and music programmes will be organised during the festival.
