Janata Dal (Secular) leader and former Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy on Monday accused Chief Minister Siddaramaiah of a “direct role” in the rejection of the 2011 batch selection list of the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) and demanded his resignation.
Mr. Kumaraswamy, who is supporting the selected candidates’ agitation demanding review of the Cabinet decision, alleged that Mr. Siddaramaiah telephoned a KPSC member 76 times to do a favour to one of the candidates. “The candidate is a close relative of M. Kempaiah, retired IPS officer and adviser to Home Minister,” he alleged.
However, the CID report has no mention of the Chief Minister’s conversation with the KPSC member.

He also alleged that Dr. Mythri, the whistleblower, had made 17 telephone calls to KPSC member Mangala Sridhar, who was suspended on charges of corruption.
Only the State legislature has the power to reject the KPSC final list, the JD(S) leader said and termed the State Cabinet’s decision as “unconstitutional and invalid”.
