Kalaburagi will be hosting a State-level award distribution of the Karnataka Shilpakala Academy at the Buddha Vihar Complex in the outskirts of Kalaburagi on March 28.
Official sources said in Kalaburagi on Wednesday that the former Railway Minister and leader of the Congress in the Lok Sabha M. Mallikarjun Kharge would confer the State Shilpakala Academy Awards to five senior artists — Shankaracharya Kammar from Bellary district, R. Puttaraj from Chamarajanagar, Hanumanthrao Gaikwad from Gadag district, Nirupadappa Badiger from Bagalkot district and L.H. Ganesh from Bengaluru. Chairman of the Academy Mahadevappa Shambulingappa Shilpi will participate.
