Second-division clerk caught taking bribe

Tumakuru Lokayukta police trapped a second-division clerk who was working in Tumakuru City Corporation while he was taking a bribe of Rs. 5,000 on Friday.

The police said that Shiva Kumar had demanded Rs. 10,000 from Ameen Irssar of Heggare to make a ‘khata’ in Irssar’s father’s name.

Mr. Shiva Kumar had allegedly told Irssar to give Rs. 5,000 in advance to Hanumantharaju, who was a mediator between Shiva Kumar and Irssar, to make the Khata in his father’s name.

The Lokayukta police caught Shiva Kumar red-handed while he was receiving money from Hanumantharaju at his office.
