The State Cabinet on Wednesday approved the third phase of the Namma Grama, Namma Rasthe project in 189 rural Assembly constituencies for development of 20 km of roads in each constituency. The estimated cost is Rs. 2,079 crore.
Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister T.B. Jayachandra said 3,780 km of roads would be developed.
In accordance with the 2008-13 textile policy, he said Rs. 7-crore investment subsidy has been approved for M/s Precot Meridien Ltd, a textile company to be set up at Special Economic Zone in Hassan district. The company would provide jobs to 600 persons.

The Cabinet has fixed the number of general holidays in 2015 to 24. It has approved purchase of 64 acres in Shimoga by Cafe Coffee Village India Ltd for developing a golf course and resort.
MECL, a government of India enterprise, has been entrusted the work of assessing the extent of excess mining and export of iron ore in nine more ‘C’ category mines in Bellary district. MECL has already been assessing condition of six mines.
The Cabinet granted Rs. 9.98 crore for repair and maintenance of Dharwad district hospital. It has decided to develop 18 tourist guesthouses on a PPP model.

A sum of Rs. 18.2 crore was sanctioned for Fire and Emergency Services to purchase an aerial ladder, Mr Jayachandra said.
Indian Succession ActThe Cabinet decided to bring an amendment to the Indian Succession Act in accordance with suggestions of the Law Commission. According to the proposed amendment, the property ownership would automatically pass on to the legal heir in the event of the death of the owner in the middle of a legal battle for succession.
