N. Vinaya Hegde, Chairman of Lamina Group of Industriess and Chancellor of Nitte University, said on Tuesday that the Syndicate Bank had always focused on the welfare of the common man, agriculture and small industries.

He was speaking after inaugurating the 90th Foundation Day celebrations of the Syndicate Bank at the Golden Jubilee Hall, here.

Mr. Hegde said that the Syndicate Bank due to the far-sighted vision of its founders – Upendra A. Pai, T.M.A. Pai and V.S. Kudva – focused on the interests of the less well-off people. The “Pygmy Scheme” of the bank encouraged the habit of savings even among the common man.
