Calling Chief Secretary K. Ratna Prabha “a rubber stamp”, H.D. Revanna, Janata Dal (Secular) MLA, has said she should not be given an extension in service.

At a press conference here on Thursday, Mr. Revanna said, “I am told the State government is planning to extend her service by six months. She should instead be given a send-off on March 31,” he said. When asked if there are any allegations against the officer, Mr. Revanna said the Chief Secretary had been acting to the tunes of the government. “She is just a rubber stamp. Don’t we have efficient officers to hold the post of the Chief Secretary?” he sought to know. He said he would complain to the Election Commission if she was given an extension. “If she continues to hold the post for a few more days, it would be difficult to hold free and fair elections in the State. The Election Commission should ensure she does not hold the post,” he said.
