Minister takes a dig at ex-CM over Rajasthan BSP MLAs’ defection; Siddaramaiah hits back

Minister for Tourism C.T. Ravi and the former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah indulged in a Twitter war on Thursday after the former termed six BSP MLAs in Rajasthan joining the Congress as “Operation Neech Hand”.

Mr. Ravi tweeted: “Dear @Siddaramaiah Avare, Six BSP MLAs have quit their Party & joined @INCIndia in Rajasthan. Since this is an ‘Operation Neech Hand’ according to You, I am confident that You will sit for a protest against the ‘Murder of Democracy’ by CONgress and the Crooked Sonia-Rahul Duo.”

The Minister took a dig at the Congress leader who has been criticising the BJP for its ‘operation lotus’ after the collapse of the H.D. Kumaraswamy-led government in July.

Hitting back at Mr. Ravi, Mr. Siddaramaiah tweeted: “People of Rajasthan will worry about political developments of their State. When will you protest in front of @PMOIndia office for his apathy towards flood situation in our State? I will also join you in the protest.”

The former Chief Minister alleged that Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa was denied an appointment by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Congress leader alleged in his tweet that “denying the appointment to CM of Karnataka by PM Narendra Modi, even during the post-flood emergency, is an insult to @BSYBJP and injustice to our State. No one with self-respect will tolerate this”.

This came after Mr. Yediyurappa’s visit to Delhi on Wednesday was called off.
