October 13, 2019 11:22 pm | Updated 11:22 pm IST - Bengaluru

The Jnana Bharathi police who are probing the death of Ramesh, personal assistant of Congress leader G. Parameshwara, have sent the mobile phone and death note recovered from the abandoned car to the Forensic Science Lab (FSL) for detailed analysis.

The family members of Ramesh have alleged that harassment by the Income Tax Department led to his death, but the I-T officials have denied raiding his house and questioning him.

The police, however, have recovered CCTV footage that shows a team of officials visiting Ramesh’s house on October 10 and questioning him regarding medical seats and money transfer involved in the alleged medical seat scam.

Soon after the body was found, the police summoned the FSL team to ascertain if there was any foul play.

They have questioned Ramesh’s friends whom he last spoke to, and are waiting to speak to his family members, who are busy with the last rites at their native place in Ramanagaram district. The 40-year-old Ramesh was found dead on Bangalore University’s Jnana Bharathi campus on Saturday morning.
