Rakshith Shetty’s ‘Kirik Party’ to go on the floors in March

Rakshith Shetty, whose Kannada film ‘Ricky’ is currently running in the theatres across the State, said that his next film ‘Kirik Party’ will go on the floors from the second week of March.

Mr. Shetty, who hails from Alevoor near Udupi, was speaking here on Wednesday during an event to promote ‘Ricky.’ He was accompanied by the heroine of the film Haripriya, director Rishab Shetty, and other actors of the film —Manjunath, Pramod Shetty and Raghu Pandeshwar.

Addressing presspersons here, Mr. Rakshith Shetty said that most of the members, who were part of ‘Ricky,’ will also play a role in ‘Kirik Party,’ which he will also produce and play the lead role. “But, the heroine of the film will be changed as Ms. Haripriya has signed other films,” he said.

The story also requires a fresh female lead. Hence, an audition would be held for the new heroine. The budget of ‘Kirik Party’ would be around Rs. 4 crore. The film would revolve around the story of eight college friends. It will also focus on college life. “It is not based or a copy of the Hindi film — Three Idiots,” he said.

Mr. Rishab Shetty, who will also be directing ‘Kirik Party,’ said that the locations of the film would be finalised in the next two to three weeks. “The film will be an entertainer and will most likely be released in November,” he said.
