Rajkumar memorial opening to be star-studded affair

The inauguration of Dr. Rajkumar memorial on November 29 will bring together the who’s who of Indian cinema, including Amitabh Bachchan, Rajinikanth, Mammootty and Chiranjeevi.

The invitations will also been extended to Kamal Hassan and Mohanlal to the event that will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. Actors M.H. Ambareesh and B. Saroja Devi will be part of the colourful event at Kanteerava Studio.

Minister for Information R. Roshan Baig said Mr. Siddaramaiah would personally invite the stars.

According to Mr. Baig, the first phase of the memorial has been developed at a cost of Rs. 7 crore on 2.5 acres of land. It has an open-air auditorium, mini-water body, landscaping, and a bust of Dr. Rajkumar. As many as 40 photographs of selected movies of the thespian will be on display.

Mr. Baig said the second phase of developing a multipurpose auditorium and museum would commence soon.

Dr. Rajkumar Pratishtana, a committee comprising writers, bureaucrats and members of the actor’s family, was formed eight years ago to develop the memorial.
