Pulse polio drive launched in Mandya

Mandya MP C.S. Puttaraju launching Pulse Polio drive in Mandya on Sunday.

The first round of the intensive pulse polio campaign for 2015 was launched across the district on Sunday.

Whilst Mandya MP C.S. Puttaraju inaugurated the drive by administering polio drops to an infant at Mandavya Higher Primary School at V.V. Nagar near Kallahalli here, elected representatives and government officials launched the drive at other places across the district.

Addressing the gathering at Mandavya Higher Primary School, City Municipal Council (CMC) president, B. Siddaraju has requested the people to bring their children to booths established to administer polio drops.

H.P. Manchegowda, District Health Officer, said that the district administration has established booths at anganwadi centres, government hospitals, primary health centres (PHCs), bus terminals, railway stations and at other public places.

Mandya Deputy Commissioner, M.N. Ajay Nagabhushan, CMC Commissioner N.M. Shashikumar, Red Cross (Mandya) vice-president Meera Shivalingaiah and other officials too administered polio drops on the occasion.
