Protests continue against attack

Condemning the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir, various organisations held demonstrations and protest marches here on Saturday.

Hundreds of students from institutions of Anjuman-e-Islam took out a march from Durgad Bail in Hubballi. Beginning from Durgad Bail, the students covered the thoroughfares of the city holding placards and banners condemning the act of terror.

On reaching Kittur Chennamma Circle, the students observed silence for two minutes and paid tributes to the martyred soldiers. They subsequently marched to the Mini Vidhana Soudha and submitted a memorandum addressed to the Prime Minister to the Hubballi tahsildar seeking adequate protection to those serving in the armed forces.

Staging a protest condemning the terror attack, members of Sri Ram Sena burnt the flag of Pakistan alleging that Pakistan was behind the attack on Indian troops. A youth from Yaliwal in Kundagol taluk of Dharwad district has written a letter in his blood to the Prime Minister expressing solidarity with the defence forces.

Girishgouda Mudigoudar has urged the Prime Minister to suitably retaliate mentioning that youths like him would willingly join any such retaliatory action.
