Actor Prakash Raj, on a ‘just asking’ campaign against the BJP, has criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not answering some of the questions raised by him. “I will continue to pose questions until I get answers. This should also be done by people so as to have good governance in the country”, he said.
“What happened to the promise made by you (Prime Minister) to generate two crore jobs and bring back the black money stashed in foreign banks? Why are income tax raids continuing even after demonetisation? Why is cash not available in ATMs? You are talking about rooting out corruption. Then how would you explain your party fielding persons with tainted image, being part of Ballari Reddy brothers group, in this election ? These are some of the questions I have put forth and the Prime Minister has not yet answered”, the actor said while talking to presspersons here on Wednesday.
Accusing the BJP and the Prime Minister of ‘hoodwinking’ the people and rousing communal sentiments through speeches in all public meetings, Mr. Raj wanted the Prime Minister to talk on the development turned out in his tenure instead.

“Demonetisation has hit the people hard and many have lost their jobs. The Goods and Service Tax (GST) introduced was only to loot the common people. Till today, the government had not yet given details of how much black money was curbed after demonetisation. If demonetisation was successful then why are Income Tax raids being conducted? All these facts needs to be told to the people,” he stressed.
To a question, Mr. Raj said that compared to the five-year rule of BJP in the State and the 20-month rule of Janata Dal(S), Congress government headed by Siddaramaiah was better.
Clarifying that he was not campaigning for the Congress, Mr. Raj said that his main purpose of undertaking the ‘just asking’ movement was to protect the country from communalisation by creating awareness among the people to start posing questions.

“When I started, I was all alone. Now I have been getting whole-hearted support from all sections of the society. We will continue the campaign towards having a just society,” he said.
