Poojary lacks knowledge about Yettinahole project: Moily

Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas M. Veerappa Moily has claimed that the former Minister B. Janardhana Poojary lacks knowledge about the Yettinahole project, and that nobody should oppose drinking water projects.

Speaking to presspersons after seeking the blessings of seer of Siddaganga Math Shivakumara Swami here on Sunday, Mr. Moily said that only 24 tmcft of water would be used to provide drinking water to nine districts, including Kolar, Chickballapur, Tumkur and Bangalore Rural.

The project had been reviewed five times. It would not have an adverse effect on the people of Dakshina Kannada, he said.

Moily confident

Mr. Moily expressed confidence that the United Progressive Alliance would come to power for the third time, and that he would win the election from Chickballapur Lok Sabha constituency by a huge margin. He said he had developed his constituency by carrying out several works.

On Jaffer Sharief

With regard to senior Congress leader Jaffer Sharief, Mr. Moily said the party had given him power and he had enjoyed it. There was no chance of him leaving the party. The party had given him ticket three times and he lost on all occasions. Even his son-in-law was given ticket but he had lost the elections.

In order to accommodate new faces, the high command had denied him ticket this time.

DBTL scheme

On the Aadhaar-linked DBT for LPG (DBTL) scheme, he said it had been stopped temporarily and that it would resume after the elections.
