Thirty-four-year-old Paul, a native of Robertsonpet in Bangarpet of Kolar district, was with MLIRC since he was transferred here about six months ago.

He went missing without informing either his family members or senior officials. MLIRC officials told The Hindu here on Friday that his conduct was good, which was also acknowledged by a few other soldiers.

The officials said they were clueless about what prompted Paul to leave the campus without informing even his friends and family members.

Camp police officials said their efforts to trace calls on his cellphone for the last 15 days were in vain.

Fresh efforts were now on to trace calls in September, which could throw some light on the mystery surrounding his missing.
