Mysore University has booked over 2,000 rooms for delegates and VVIPs in hotels and guest houses. Infosys and Suttur Math have helped the university in providing accommodation to the guests and have reserved rooms in their guest houses. While Infosys has given over 300 rooms where 600 guests can be accommodated, Suttur math has given 350 rooms on sharing basis.
K.S. Rangappa, Vice-Chancellor of Mysore University, said that Lalitha Mahal Palace has been reserved for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his team, including security personnel. Union Minister for Science and Technology Harsh Vardhan will accompany the Prime Minister. Chief Minister Siddramaiah and Governor Vajubhai Vala will take part in the inaugural function. Mr. Modi is expected to arrive here on January 2. He will unveil a new hospital of Avadhoota Datta Peetham in Mysuru on that day and later take part in the centenary celebrations of Jagadguru Shivaratri Rajendra Mahaswami of Suttur Math, according to official sources.
He will inaugurate the Indian science Congress on January 3. Mysore University is organising the event for the second time, the first being in 1982.
