There was no respite for the people of Hyderabad Karnataka and parts of Bombay Karnataka from the severe heatwave conditions. Bidar recorded the State’s highest maximum temperature of 42.2 degree Celsius as per the observations recorded by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) at 8.30 a.m. on Monday.
The maximum temperature recorded by Bidar was 3 degree Celsius more than temperature recorded on the same day last year. Bidar also recorded the highest minimum temperature of 28 degree Celsius in the region, which was also 2 degree Celsius more than the temperature recorded last year on the same day.
The weather conditions continued to be oppressive in other parts of the region, with Kalaburagi recording 42 degree Celsius maximum temperature and Raichur recording a maximum temperature of 41.8 degree Celsius. The maximum temperatures recorded in Kalaburagi and Raichur were 2 degree Celsius each more than that recorded last year on the same day. While Vijayapura in Bombay Karnataka recorded a maximum temperature of 41 degree Celsius, two degrees more than the temperatures recorded last year on the same day, Ballari recorded a maximum temperature of 40 degree Celsius. Koppal and Bagalkot recorded an identical maximum temperature of 39 degree Celsius each. Gadag recorded a maximum temperature of 39 degree Celsius.

The night temperatures also continued to be high with Kalaburagi and Raichur recording a minimum temperature of 27 degree Celsius. Ballari and Koppal recorded a minimum temperature of 25 degree Celsius each and Gadag recorded a minimum temperature of 24 degree Celsius.
Roads in Kalaburagi continued to wear a vacant look in the afternoon due to the extreme heatwave conditions. Sources in the IMD said that light to moderate rain was expected in the Hyderabad-Karnataka and Bombay-Karnataka regions in the next 24 hours.
