There will be one Government nodal officer appointed for every 20 industrialists who have signed Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) in the Global Investors Meet 2012 held in Bangalore recently, said Chief Minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda on Sunday.
He told presspersons after casting his vote in the South-West Graduates' Constituency in his home town Puttur, Mr. Gowda said: “Around 20 to 25 industrialists will come under one nodal officer. If the industrialists have any problems executing the MoU, they can contact the nodal officer, who will be selected from the department that the project comes under.”
The Chief Minister said he would chair a high-level committee to speedily issue Government Orders required for the implementation of the projects. “I will personally review the progress reports filed by Secretaries of various departments once in three months,” he said.

Calling the meet a “success”, the Chief Minister said investments in multiple sectors such as tourism, power, manufacturing, and the investments in tier-II cities like Gulbarga was a hallmark of this year's edition of GIM. “All of these are employment generating projects,” he said.

Refuting allegations of misuse in the Right to Services or Sakala in the State, Mr. Gowda said: “Over 15 lakh files have been disposed in 151 services. These I think are the highest number of its kind in the country. The Government has a proposal to bring even the Secretariat under this scheme,” he said.

On the long-pending expansion of the State Cabinet, the Chief Minister said: “The Cabinet will be expanded after elections to the post left vacant after the demise of V.S. Acharya [former Education Minister] is held.”
About the raids by the Income Tax Department on the residence of the kin of C.T. Ravi, Chikmagalur MLA, Mr. Gowda said they were “politically motivated.”
