Severe heatwave conditions continued in Hyderabad Karnataka and parts of Bombay Karnataka for the fifth consecutive day. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) warned that the hot spell in the region would continue for the next three days, until May 26.
As per the data recorded by the IMD at 8.30 a.m. on Saturday, both Kalaburagi and Bidar recorded the State’s highest maximum temperature of 43.6 degrees Celsius each.
The maximum temperature of 43.6 degrees recorded by Bidar was 5 degrees more than the temperature recorded on the same day last year — and also 4 degrees more than the temperature recorded in Kalaburagi on the same day last year. Raichur recorded a maximum temperature of 42 degrees, followed by Vijayapura with 41 degrees, Ballari with 40 degrees and Koppal, Gadag and Bagalkot recorded 39 degrees each. The night temperature also continued to be high in Hyderabad Karnataka region, with Bidar recording the State’s highest minimum temperature of 29 degree Celsius.
